ESO Inventory Management Guide This Elder Scrolls Online beginner guide covers the BEST way to manage your inventory without eso plus. This is one of the biggest pain points for players starting eso or just trying out the game, leaving them scratching their heads on what to save when they’re just bombarded with items. Visit a bag merchant at the Marketplace where you can increase your inventory slots by 10, to a new maximum of 70, for 400 gold per increase. The next maximum of 80 Inventory slots will cost you 2 000 gold. The max number of inventory slots is 110. ESO has just added a new non-combat pet to the Crown Store and for the first time this is a cosmetic item with benefits. It' the Bristleneck War Boar and it comes with a permanent account-wide + 5 inventory slot perk.
But how do you use it? Are there different types of mounts and how do you make it go faster?
These are all commonly asked questions and I will answer all of them in this article.
Getting your first mount
First you need to make sure you actually have a mount. To check this, go to your collections tab in the menu (hotkey: U on PC) and click “mounts”, here you will see all the mounts that you own. If you don’t see any mounts here, it means you don’t have one.
To get your first mount the easiest way is to go to the stables, these are located in every major city and can be found on the map by locating the horse symbol.
You can buy a mount from the stable master located in the stables.
Using your mount
First you need to set your active mount. Navigate to your collections tab in the menu (press U on PC). Click on the “Mounts” tab. Select the mount you wish to use by double clicking on it. Doing this will equip that mount.
Now that you’ve equipped your mount you can close down all the menus as we are ready to jump up on our horse.
PC: Press H to mount. If this does not work, press ESC, got to “keybindings” find “mount” and check which key is assigned, or reassign it to your desired hotkey.
XBOX: Press and hold down VIEW to mount.
PS4: Press and hold down the touchpad to mount.
Speeding up your mount
You may notice that your mount is quite slow. This is because you have not yet upgraded its speed. To do this, head over to a stable in any major city marked with a horse symbol on the map.
Also, you can hold down your SPRINT button to sprint with your mount, this will make it go a bit faster.
Talk to the stable master and you will get three options.
- Speed: Increases the speed of your mount. I suggest you upgrade this first.
- Carry Capacity: Each time you upgrade you will increase your carrying capacity by one slot.
- Stamina: Increases your horse’s stamina. Once your horse’s stamina is drained and you take a hit from an enemy you will be dismounted and stunned for 5 seconds. This is only really an issue in PVP as being dismounted will get you killed. I would recommend to upgrade this last.
Each stat can be upgraded to a maximum number of 60.
You will only be allowed upgrade once every 20 hours. Once you upgrade, you need to wait 20 hours to upgrade again.
To check how long you have until your next available mount upgrade, go to your character tab by pressing C. Scroll down to “Riding Skill”, hover on the hour glass to the right and it will tell you when you can train your mount again.
NOTE: Upgrading any of these stats will apply to ALL mounts you have, and any future mounts you acquire. It is NOT exclusive to the mount you have equipped.
It is however exclusive to the character you are currently playing on. Each of your characters will need to upgrade the mount stats individually.
Do different mounts have different stats?
Elder Scrolls Online Increase Inventory
No they don’t.
Mounts in the Elder Scrolls Online are identical in terms of stats, the difference between mounts is purely cosmetic.
All mounts you acquire share the same upgrades that you have purchased from the stable master.
Collecting more mounts
So how do you boost your epic mount collection?
Well, beyond the horses the stablemaster can sell you, your options are quite slim I’m afraid.
Don’t get me wrong, there are tons of different mounts in ESO but most of them are locked behind a paywall 🙁
Most mounts are purchased through the Crown Store either with crown gems or by finding them in loot crates that you buy for crowns.
