How To Open Ezdrummer In Garageband
My Toontrack EZDrummer does not show up in Pro Tools 11! How do I add instrument plug-ins (such as EZDrummer) in the new GarageBand X? How do I authorize Toontrack EZDrummer 2 on an offline computer? I cannot drag and drop MIDI loops in EZ drummer. How do I drag and drop MIDI files from EZDrummer to my DAW? On the right hand window pane, click on 'Apps' along the top 5. Scroll down towards the bottom of the right hand window until you see a section called 'File Sharing' 6.
Its fairly simple. Once you have installed EZdrummer, open GarageBand. Click the information button (blue button with the letter 'i' on it) located next to th master volume slider. That will bring up the Track Info window. You'll need to click the Details tab at the bottom. Under the 'Instrument generator' the default should be Grand Piano. Click the up/down arrows and EZdrummer should be in that menu. Select it, and then click the 'pencil' button to the right. It should bring up the EZdrummer interface. If you want to open the internal drum mixer just click on it.. its located next to the snare drum.
If I remember correctly, there was a problem with older versions on GB working with EZd. Apparently if you're going to use the loops, you can only use one loop per track. Kind of annoying so you may want to consider a GB upgrade if you plan on using EZd extensively.

- The velocity control in EZ Drummer is a knob to the right of the 'open grooves' button. Turning the knob left turns down the velocity, and turning it to the right increases velocity. The humanize setting randomizes the velocity portion of the MIDI file, giving the track a more life-like tone.
- I can’t get EZDrummer working with Garageband 10.3.2. Other Plugins are working, but EzDrummer doesn’t show up as AU Unit. Already tried to delete the Cache Files, but it’s still won’t be detected. I can also confirm that there is a EZdrummer.component in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/ along with my other Plugin (which works fine).

Add a Drummer loop to your project
When you’ve found a Drummer Loop you like, drag it into an empty part of the Tracks area. GarageBand automatically creates a new Drummer track with a region of the Drummer Loop. All the settings in the Drummer Editor are configured to reproduce the sound of the Drummer loop.
You can now edit the track as you would any other Drummer track using the Drummer Editor. You can also create your own regions in the track, and edit them freely.
